The Salvation Army Rotary Hospice House Mission
The Salvation Army Rotary Hospice House is committed to provide excellence in health care.
The motivation of the Rotary Hospice House is to express the love of God through a practical concern for the needs of all who come within its sphere of influence regardless of race, colour, creed, sex or age.
We offer a compassionate, interdisciplinary, holistic approach in providing for the physical, emotional, spiritual and social needs of our residents, their families and our community.
We recognize the intrinsic worth, dignity and philosophy of each individual resident, family and staff member.
The Rotary Hospice House is owned and operated by The Salvation Army. The Hospice is recognized as the residents’ home, and staff will make every effort to provide a safe, home-like atmosphere.
The Rotary Hospice House realizes it has a role to play in the community, and that community involvement can enhance the holistic care given.
Philosophy of Hospice
Hospice is a sanctuary of hope at end of life. As the community of hospice, we honour the vision of individuals and their families whose care is entrusted to us on their final journey. Through relationship and with humility, we acknowledge the strength and resilience within each person and that we are all part of the human family. We walk beside each resident to facilitate a gentle closure to life, with comfort ensured, values and decisions respected, and families supported.(Hawthorne & Yurkovich)
